Housing crisis, evictions, discrimination, harassment,
rent hikes and repossessions... Enough!
We will fight back!
before the “Tent City” action July 5 FRIDAY JUNE 6
1710 Beaudry (Beaudry metro)
5:30pm: Spaghetti dinner, photos, film
7pm: Panel - the many faces of the housing crisis

Le Comite des sans-emploi
Women and the housing crisis
CLAC Logement and more...

Entry to the event is FREE; the spaghetti dinner costs
$1.25. * Translation to French and English. *
Childcare available upon request. * Wheelchair

This first of July, more women, men and children will
find themselves without a roof over their heads as the
vacancy rate drops, rents rise and the gap between
rich and poor grows. With nowhere to live and an
inadequate shelter system, many folks will be sleeping
in Montreal’s parks, vacant lots and abandoned
buildings. There they will face abuse and brutality at
the hands of the police and private security companies
as the city tries to hide the “ugly’ face of the
housing crisis from summer tourists. No more! This
summer, we’ll put up our tents in solidarity with
other poor and homeless people. We’ll create a zone of
organized resistance where people can live, enjoy
themselves, share skills and ideas, organize, defend
themselves and plan for the future. While we fight for
the housing we need, we will defend those who have no
choice but the streets. Join us for a demonstration
that will head to the site where we’ll erect our Tent

Organised by Le Comite des sans-emploi (596-7094),
CLAC Logement (409-2049) & the Comité logement
Ahuntsic-Cartierville (331-1773)
* [Ed. Note: OCAP and CLAC are antiauthoritarian social class struggle initiatives]
