A SMALL CHRONICLE OF THE MOBILIZATIONS OF ANARCHISTS AND ANTIAUTHORIATARIANS AGAINST
THE SUMMIT OF CRIMINALS AND TERRORISTS OF THE EUROPEAN UNION IN THESSALONIKI JUNE 20TH-22ND.
On Monday June 16th the new building of the Philosophial School
of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is occupied by about
400 anarchists and antiauthoritarians that use the space for
discussions, video-projections, information and accomodation.
There is also an exhibition of anarchist posters and many stands
with anarchist printed material. The central banner of the squat is
“BLACK BLOCK ATTACK”.

A few days ago, after a decision made by the Student Committee
of the Architectural School, the Polytechnic School is occupied
and used by leftists. In all the campus several manifestations and
concerts take place and campings are set up. Meanwhile the
chancellor has handed out the builidings of Physical School and
Theological School to Sruggle Initiative 2003 and
Antiauthoritarian Move Salonica 2003 respectively. The building
of the Law School is occupied and is used by Indymedia, Radio
1431 Am and medical help team.

All these days thousands of people arrive at the campus. 2
cameras are sabotaged on Egnatia and Agiou Dimitriou str.
The “open assembly of anarchists and antiauthoritarians
against the summit of EU leaders” modifies the space around
the Meteoroscope in order for it to be used for manifestations and
projections.

On Tuesday there is a manifestation about globalization made by
the “Collaboration of Anarchist Groups and Individuals for
Social Solidarity and Multiform Action” at the area between
the old and the new buildings of the Philosophical School.
On Wednesday a manifestation about immigrants takes place at
the same area, made by “Anarchists from west suburbs of
Athens”.

On Thursday there is a demo of about 4000
anarchists-antiauthoritarians around west areas of the
municipality of Thessaloniki. Cameras on the streets are
sabotaged. The demo reached the limits of the minicipalities of
Sykies and Neapoli and came back to the centre.
On Friday there is an intervention against a refugee camp on the
borders between Greece and Scopje.

Other demonstrators gather before Marmaras, Chalkidiki, where
the summit is taking place. Long before Marmara cops have cut
the traffic and attack with teargas while stones are thrown at
them.

On Sunday there are the demos of about 40.000 demonstrators,
according to calculations, by various organizations around the
centre.

The black block starts its demo from the campus and via Gianni
Velidi str. Heads towards Egnatia str. At Egnatia and Ethnikis
Aminis str. cameramen on rooftops are attacked with flares.
Shortly after, attacks to luxurious stores with stones, molotov
cocktails, metal sticks and slingshots begin. At Iasonidou str. a
cameraman is attacked. Cops begin to attack at Prasakaki str.
They throw lots of teargas and they are constantly attacked. The
block is divided and many people return to the Philosophical
School where barricades are set at Egnatia str. and
Armenopoulou str. and clashes with cops continue.

The rest of the block continues at Egnatia and Agias Sofias
crossroads. Banks, enterprises, luxurious stores are set on fire
around that area. The first arrests take place. Then the block is
further divided into smaller pieces while people in the centre
choke in teargas.

Totally 102 greeks and foreigners are captured and by night 29

delinquencies. During their capture the arrested are subject to
tortures and beatings. Some are forced to undress before attacked

bags!

On Sunday about 300 people gather outside the court in solidarity
