Statement regarding the events which took place on Saturday 12th
July 2003 at piazza Risorgimento [Pordenone] and on the
statement made by the Provincial President of Alleanza
Nazionale, A. Ciriani, who led the aggression against a member
of the Circolo Zapata, obviously and as we would only expect several against one.
The [AN] demonstration was already over and the piazza had been
cleared. There remained only one tricolour [national flag] to
symbolize "ownership" (of the streets) and exclude all other
cultures and nationalities. It was at that time, after the demo,
that one of our comrades decided to go and lower the flag, but
he was immediately pounced on by several uniformed and
plain-clothed policemen.

In themeanwhile, a group of fascists led by the Provincial
President of Alleanza Nazionale, A. Ciriani, who had remained in
the vicinity, intervened (even though our action was already
over by this stage) in order to give the young man a lesson, in
perfect squadrista style. They proceeded to kick him, hitting
him in several places.

Not only was he attacked, but this all happened under the
watchful eye of the "forces of order".

Of course the usual fascist methods will not stop us from our
anti-racist, class-struggle solidarity, a fact demonstrated by
the migrants themselves and the various young people who joined
our protest against the racist demonstration called by the
promoters of xenophobia in Pordenone.

Mr Ciriani's whining is laughable, too. He complains that every
time he tries to have a "democratic" demonstration, it is always
those anarchists who "distiurb" him.

We would remind everyone that apart from the necessary response
which was made last Saturday, the only times the fascists in
double-breasted suits have been bothered was on the last three
25th April commemorations, during the Festival of the Resistance
and Liberation from Nazi-Fascism, when they provocatively tried
to put the butchers and their victims on the same level.

It is they who disturb the demonstrations of others, and they do
so with the approval of the police and the institutions.

First they provoke and offend women and men who died for
freedom, then they demand to cage others in the "temporary
detention centres" simply because they do not have the right
papers and then they expect the State and the police to ban all
those who would protest against this.

Many years have gone by, but the racist, violent and censorial
values of the fascists still have the same unbreathable stench.

The militant anti-racism and anti-fascism will go on.
