Uruguayan libertarians have agreed to hold an Anarchist
Encounter on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th July which will give
those who understand the necessity of such a meeting an
opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences regarding those
themes which interest us and which are directly connected with
updating our theory, with the contect of our publications and
with our daily practices. Most known collectives as well as a
large number of individuals who belong to no group have, over
the last few months, been involved in the preparation for this
event and are deeply convinced of its importance and the fact
that it is a natural thing to do. Below are the main
characteristics of the Encounter.

The collective space will be defended without there being
winners or losers.

It will be a social exchange: there will be no final declaration
nor majorities and minorities. There will be nothing to vote on,
only diversity.

The final report will contain a summary of positions without any
loss of concepts or ideas. For this reason, participation and
discussion should be clear without being simplistic.

The final report is not for approval or discussion. There will
be no joint, consensual final declaration. It will be designed
to share and spread knowledge, information, ideas, experiences
and practices. It will be designed for the exchange and
development of opinions.
