In night between 28th and 29th of July 5 animal rights activists were
arrested in a car in Pohjanmaa region of the Finnish West coast. Half hours
before the arrest alarm bells had went on in a furfarm nearby, some locks of
the farm had also been broken. This farm had been targeted by animal liberation activists one year before.
Most of the arrested are anarchists, although only one of them has been very active in "explicitly
anarchist" movement for a long time. Current charges are for
"severe trespass", which thanks to new anti-terrorist legislation
is a felony carrying up to 4 years prison sentence. Since two of
the arrested have former sentences, consequences might be
serious if police manages to cook some evidence.

Arrested were jailed in court 1st of August for two weeks, and
court may proceed isolation every two weeks. Last time
when animal liberation activists were arrested with such serious charges
2 years ago, they were kept 6 weeks inside. However this
previous investigation has still not moved to court, which gives
a hint that they have a big lack of testimony against people arrested

Please send mail to arrested, they are in a need of support now
since total isolation lasting weeks is very hard. It is true that police
seldom passes post to those isolated, but at least they notice to arrested
that post has arrived, which already is a sign that they have not
been forgotten.

Police and mainstream media for sure know who are the arrested,
but their identity is protected here since identities have not been revealed
to public, and if they end up in open internet they are available
for any kinds of blacklisting purposes.
