A-Infos (en) Poland, more protests in Wroclaw

About 15-200 people demonstrated in Wroclaw on monday against the
liquidation of the Rydygiera hospital and against the misery of other
hospitals around the country. The marchers carried a coffin, symbolizing
the condition of the health service.
The cops appeared in great numbers and pushed the demonstrators
on the pavement and on less frequented streets.

The participants of the demo included not only the employees of the
hospital, but also unemployed, students, pensioners, neighbours, squatters
and
activists from the Anarchist Federation.

The police prevented the protesters from carrying the coffin inside
the offices of the local government. Local council members came
out to discuss, including freshly elected representatives of
"Self-Defence" (pseudo-farmer party). Their talk was met with
skepticism. FA members made a speech, in which they
underlined that the strength of the protest is it's lack of reliance
on elites and its self-organised structure based on employee
solidarity, support from the local population, students and unemployed.

This time no arrests were made, although the cops id checked demonstrators.

Tomorrow at 16:00 people from Rydygiera hospital will be back
at the local council to pressure for better treatement of the hospital's
workers and of the health care workers in Silesia in general.
