35 syndicalists -two of whom are our anarchist
comrades- from KESK(*) are punished to 1 year 3 months
imprisonment with the claim of not obeying to the
"Meeting and Demonstrations Act". 

The judge Sahin Kurt declared that the syndicalists
did not obey the order of the police telling them "to
split away" and offended the "Meeting and
Demonstrations Act" # 2911, Article 32/1; that is why
he "punished" them to 1 year 3 months imprisonment.
The punishment did not postponed nor turned into fine
as usual. 

Syndicalists expressed that "from the beginning the
court operated in prejudice" and "this decision is
fully political". They also celebrated 10 December
Human Rights' Day of the judge punishing them on 10th
of December. 

The court was about a demonstration organized by KESK
on 7th of June 2001 against the law offer about
trade-unions banning strikes. The syndicalists were
accused of blocking the traffic, passing through the
police barricade illegally, not obeying to the police
order telling "to split away".  

We call everyone supporting struggles of liberation
and labor to protest this venture decision of Turkish
state and mobilize solidarity with those syndicalists
facing imprisonment.
