ACTION AT TIMES SQUARE RECRUITMENT CENTER, 8 A.M., TUES., DEC. 10 - HUMAN
RIGHTS DAY

New York - No Blood For Oil!, the anti-authoritarian coalition of New
York-basec activists opposed to the New American Imperialism, in
collaboration with Mobilize New York! and An Absurd Response to an Absurd
War, will be turning the U.S. Military Recruitment Center in Times Square
into a Peace Recruitment Center tomorrrow, Dec. 10, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
The action will highlight International Human Rights Day and the funnelling
of U.S. tax dollars into a war for oil profiteers at a time when
homelessness and hunger in New York and other cities are climbing.

Times Square is the crossroads of the world, and so it's appropriate for the
struggle to forestall the invasion of Iraq and the new American campaign for
military domination of the Middle East to begin there - in the most diverse
intersection on the planet. Every day, passers-by are recruited there to
join a military that is becoming the driving force behind an Administration
that ignores growing human misery at home in favor of imperial projects
abroad. Tomorrow morning, we will instead be using the recruitment station
site to recruit activists for peace.

At 9:30 a.m., we will be marching to the United Nations, to rally at the
Isaiah Wall, 43rd Street and 1st Avenue and bear supportive witness to the
1,400 faith-based peace activists who will submit to arrest to show their
determination to stop the looming Iraq war before it starts (the mass arrest
was arranged by the United Council of Churches).

Remember: For a concise, FREE weekly update on anti-war efforts in the New
York City area, email mobilize-ny-request@mediajumpstart.net.
