MATCHES AND MAYHEM APPROACHES! When May Day's over, it's time to get ready
for Matches and Mayhem!
This second annual anarchist, anti-authoritarian festival of the body and
mind is almost here.
Plans are being finalized for the Haymarket Memorial Soccer Tournament,
Propaganda Gallery,
Midwest Anarchist Book Fair, Anarchist Debate Series, Anarchist Film
Festival, Variety Show and more.

It all starts with the opening of the film festival, to be held the evening
of Friday May 25.
The schedule will feature a mix of footage from direct actions, submissions
by anarchists from
around the country and anarchist classics. The Film Fest team is actively
reviewing and considering
an exciting collection including Winstanley, the story of Gerard Winstanley
and the diggers, a
proto-anarchist community in 17th century England, All Our Lives, the story
of some of the women who
were struggling against fascists in the Spanish Civil War/Revolution, Frog
in the Well, a touching
and careful biography of a Chinese immigrant who documented the free speech
movement in Berkeley,
experimental films documents of struggle and history.

>From the Film Fest and on into the wee hours, there will be a benefit bash
featuring DJs, bands and beer
hosted by Guerrilla Love Radio, our friendly local pirate station. The venue
will also have on display
the posters and flags that mark our territory and campaigns.

The cultural stimulation continues Saturday morning and afternoon with the
Anarchist Bookfair,
Soccer Matches and the Debate Series. And these are no ordinary Debates. The
audience participates as
teams try to work out: (anti)Organization - Is John Connor right in calling
for the destruction of it all?
(anti)Fascism: Working class communities versus the "travelling circus" in
Seattle and Prague and
(anti)Nationalism: Should anarchists work in solidarity with nationalists?

*Look for special presentations to take place during the bookfair!

That night you can show off your talent or admire the toe-tapping,
guitar-strumming and stand-up
routines of friendly revolutionaries from around the midwest at the popular
Variety Show.

Sunday brings you the exciting Soccer final and semi-finals, the conclusion
of the Debate Series and
Film Festival, and a closing ceremony.

It is not too late to turn in posters and your best idea for an anarchist
flag for the Propaganda Gallery,
submit a video to the Film Fest, reserve a table at the Bookfair, sign up to
perform at the Variety Show, or
express you views at the Debate Series! Gorgeous four-color posters
available. Let us know if you want one,
or lots if you can help us distribute them. For more information and to
register for events, submit work or
volunteer, check out www.digipunk.com/mnm or call 312-494-2362.

See you there!
