5. Indigenous request education workshop proposals
Educators from Mexico or other parts of the world are invited to help the
indigenous of Chiapas deepen the curriculum of their emerging autonomous
school system by presenting short term presentations.  

"We welcome every opportunity to share ideas from around the world,"
explained the Education Committee of the the First of January school.  "At
this moment our teachers have a particular need for new and effective ideas
in math, Spanish, and pedagogy, but we would welcome all honest suggestions
for workshops."  Room and board would be provided; the language of
instruction would be Spanish.  

Short (one to two page) proposals for workshops in Chiapas can be presented
at the Schools for Chiapas office at Oventic Aguascalientes II or via email

6. Zapatista School Bond Program  
You can become actively involved in supporting the Zapatista education
system by selling five dollar school bonds to your friends, family,
teachers, and organizations.  We will send you a packet of 20 school bonds
with instructions at no cost so that you can "give it a try".

One hundred percent of the money collected from bonds is handed directly to
the autonomous, indigenous educators in Chiapas!  Join the effort to create
a model school system in the jungles and mountians of the Mexican
southeast.  For information about school bonds call (619) 232-2841 or email
