seeks activist video contributors
Watch the March 2000 edition, online now!

Break through the corporate media blockade! The DIRECT ACTION HEADLINE
NEWS is seeking activist video to include in its upcoming installments,
for March, April, and May 2000.

Your video doesn't have to be "professional" or pre-edited, and can be 3
minutes, or as long as you like (first time camera operators, see DAMN’s
“shooting tips” at http://damn.tao.ca/video2.htm).

Please submit one, or all, of the following:

- Interviews with witnesses and participants
in Direct Actions and other activist events
(ie, protests, marches, sit ins, blocking
  traffic, meetings with elected officials,
reclaim the street parties, critical mass
bike rides, post WTO events, etc)

- "B-roll", video that sets the context, tells the
story of the Direct Action visually (ie, people
blockading a doorway, pulling up GE crops)

- 2 to 3 minute edited "reports" from the scene
of a Direct Action or other activist events

All video formats are accepted, and should be accompanied by the

- Short description of the event
(What, Where, Who, When, Why, How)

- On-camera permission to use
  interviews for television

- On-camera interview names spoken and
spelled out clearly for titles (if people wish
to remain anonymous, or even not have their
faces shown on camera, make sure to
  note that as well)

- Videographer contact information for credits

- Written notes explaining the contents of
  the tape

It is critical for the world to have access to news of important events
from the perspective of the front-line activist. And it is incumbent
upon media activists to help these stories break through the ongoing
corporate media blockade on struggles of resistance.

If you have access to a camera, please get involved in any way that you
can. If you don't have access to a camera, and would like to be
involved, please contact us at your earliest convenience and we can plug
you in (see contact information below).
