The Swedish Network Against Racism organised a protest meeting and
demonstration against the FP֒s participation in the new coalition
government in Austria.
Circa 100 demonstrators, mainly leftist youth, braved blistering
temperatures and snow in central Stockholm today in order to show their
distaste for the recent developments in Austria. The protest meeting
listened to many speakers, amongst them veteran anti-fascists, the General
Secretary of the Swedish revolutionary syndicalist union SAC and
representatives of other groups within the Network Against Racism. The
protest meeting participants then demonstrated to an area approximately one
block away from the Austrian Embassy which was cordoned off by police forces.
Further activities against the FP are planned in Stockholm during the
month of March.
