Students Against Sweatshops at Yale had a huge rally in front of our
administration building this afternoon, demanding that Yale join the WRC and
leave the FLA. Undergrads were joined by grad students, faculty, union
members, and community activists. We covered a wall across from the
administration building with over 300 cards that people signed in support of
our demands, and we estimate that about 500 people were there at the peak of
the rally.

SAS was supported by local unions, by the graduate student union (that Yale
doesn't recognize--yet), and by lots of other student activist groups. The
rally showed support not only for SAS's demands but for labor rights on
campus, for the United Farm Workers' grape boycott, for STARC's Socially
Responsible Investing campaign, and for the growing national student movement.
