This is for people on the list from the Twin Cities area. It is the text of a flyer we put together for a demo against
the Diallo verdict, which was announced last night. Everyone possible needs to get to this demo.
Killer Cops Go Free!
THE DIALLO VERDICT MUST BE CHALLENGED!
A young Black man returning home is set upon by four white men in plain clothes, guns drawn. Moments later, he is gunned
down in a hail of 41 bullets. This man, who never committed any crime, is murdered in cold blood. Yet his murderers walk
free. The reason: as police officers they can feign concern for their own safety and, quite literally, get away with
murder.
This travesty must not go unchallenged. Already, police harass, beat and terrorize people with impunity. If this verdict
goes unchallenged, it will set up a climate in which there will be even more widespread abuse by police.
