A new online radio program seeks your listenership and input for a unique
format addressing the lives of people of color, the politics and issues
that affect our daily lives and revolutionary solutions.

Sexto Sol ("sixth sun") is program starting March 5 from Houston-based
www.firstamendmentradio.org. Hosted by Ernesto Aguilar, Sexto Sol airs
weekly on Sundays, 4-6 p.m. Central time (22:00-24:00 GMT), from the
aforementioned website. RealPlayer or any other streaming MP3-compatible
player is required.

Ideally, this show would address how all manner of issues affect people of
color, but, practically, it will address topics all of us should be
concerned about. Issues such as poverty, criminalization, militarization of
our communities and more will be addressed, as well as topics relating to
the experiences of people of color colonialism, forgotten histories,
nationalism and race. The effort is in handling this potent mix in a manner
that is less theoretical and more from an everywo/man perspective.

The objective is to take politics particularly revolutionary politics as
a part of our daily lives that can't exist in the vacuum of theory. As
such, everyday topics will be woven into the mix, such as how we eat, live
and enjoy our lives; computers and technology; our families and
experiences; the things everyday people enjoy, be they sports, music, etc.
The idea is to keep the politics down to earth and honest.

While the focus will tend to people of color, the revolutionary work of all
people will be addressed and reported.

March 5's program features an in-studio interview with local activist and
former DJ Bilal Nine on his own developments, efforts at organizing and his
perspective as someone who's used the medium to deliver a political
message. Bilal ran the KPFT show Street Vibe from 1992-1997.

March 12's program features Kate Rhee of the Prison Moratorium Project to
talk about the PMP's goals of education-not-incarceration and outreach to
youth. You'll hear most of the cuts from the Project's "No More Prisons"
benefit CD and find out how you can get involved in efforts on prison issues.

Subsequent programs are open to guests, so get in touch if you want to make
a suggestion for a topic or propose a call-in interview on the show.
Currently, www.firstamendmentradio.org does not have the budget to pay for
long-distance calls, so guests are encouraged to cover expenses for a 10-
to 30-minute interview or utilize the array of intenet telephony services
and products.
