Fellow Workers, Friends, & Comrades: Please take a moment to fill this
out (*especially* if you live in the Bay Area) and return it to
<intexile@bari.iww.org> (or print it out and mail it to the address listed
below). Forward as widely as possible. This campaign is public knowledge
at this point. Please give us your support; thank you.

We the undersigned understand that: The Oakland / Berkeley Chapter of the
Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) is currently involved in a union
organizing drive at the Berkeley Buyback Recycling Center AKA Community
Conservation Centers (CCC). Nineteen of Twenty Five employees have signed
union authorization cards calling for the IWW to respresent them as their
legal bargaining agent.

We understand that the workers have requested that their employer, Jeff
Belchamber, voluntarily recognize the IWW as a legal bargaining agent and
immediately begin contract negotiations with the workers at CCC. He has
refused and demands that the union call for a National Labor Relations
Board (NLRB) sponsored Election for union recognition.

We understand that the union recognizes that the employer has this right,
under Federal Labor Law in the United States, but we also know that the
NLRB is a political organization and generally does not represent the
interests of working people without mass based community support. NLRB
elections can be delayed anywhere from a few weeks to dozens of months
while the employer stalls and finds ways to intimidate their workers into
voting against unionization.

Therefore the IWW is counting on our support and solidarity to win this
campaign. We know that the strength comes from the workers in the shop,
but their strength and resolve will be boosted by our support here in the

Therefore we pledge our solidarity and support for the workers' efforts
and struggles in this organizing drive and we promise to be ready to come
to their aid in this campaign when needed.
